Teaching Sessions:
Session One: The Case for Disciple Making?
There is a mandate in scripture to go and make disciples not just converts. Disciples are made not born. This should be the role of every believer. In this session we will review the issues facing men in America and why it is such an opportune time to disciple men.
Session Two: It Starts With You!
You were not created to just blend in but to stand out as a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ. You cannot teach what you do not know or give away what you do not possess. In this session we will discuss principles that every disciple needs to live by; the questions every disciple needs to be able to answer; each of our call to discipleship and the ultimate goal of every disciple.
Session Three: Selecting the Right Disciple.
Selection is the key to successful discipleship. Christ personally called each of his disciples. In this session we will learn what qualities we are to look for in a potential Timothy. Paul challenges his Timothy to be an example in speech, life, faith, love and in purity. We will address how we achieve these outcomes.
Session Four: The Journey to Disciple Making!
Let's get practical! The journey can be more important than the destination. If you are going to intentionally make disciples you must have a plan and process to fulfill measurable goals for each individual disciple. In this session we will discuss elements that must be part of the discipleship process; the dimensions involved in making healthy disciples and a practical plan that can be developed for every potential disciple. The plan and process must ultimately and personally fit each disciple you are discipling.
Dan is the founder of People Matter Ministries. He is the former national director of denominational and parachurch relations with Promise Keepers, and former executive director for the National Coalition of Men’s Ministries. He holds bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in ministry.
